Overview of Permits and Packages

Max Concealment Package

Covering DC, MD, and VA, the Max Concealment Package equips you with everything needed to legally carry in the entire DMV area and beyond. This is our all in one bundle that includes the MD HQL, MD Wear & Carry, DC Concealed Pistol License, Utah Concealed Firearm Permit, and three bonus permits (Florida, Arizona, and Pennsylvania), allowing students to legally purchase and carry a handgun in over 40 states! This Max Concealment Package is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

Double Barrel Package

Customize your training with our Double Barrel Package, where you can choose between the MD or DC concealed carry permits and also recieve the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit. This is our “Pick 2” package that covers over 30 states! It’s your choice! Maryland and Utah or DC and Utah. If needed, this packages includes FREE MD HQL training.

Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL)

A Maryland resident must possess a valid Handgun Qualification License (HQL) before he/she may purchase, rent, or recieve a handgun. The Handgun Qualification License (HQL) is issued by the Maryland State Police and expires ten years from the date of issuance. The Handgun Qualification License is only needed for purchasing, transferring, or renting a handgun or regulated firearm after October 1, 2013.

Maryland Wear and Carry Permit

Before you may legally wear and carry a handgun/regulated firearm, you must possess and maintain on your person a Handgun Wear and Carry Permit. The Wear and Carry Permit is issued to both residents and non-residents by the Maryland State Police. The Wear and Carry permit expires on the last day of the holder’s birth month two years after the date the permit is issued. Wear and Carry Handgun Permits require a state-approved firearms training course that includes live-fire training. Training must be completed prior to applying. Initial and renewal courses are available.

DC Concealed Pistol License

District of Columbia (DC) Concealed Carry Pistol Licenses (CCPL) are required in order to concealed carry a handgun in the District. Concealed Carry Pistol Licenses are issued to both residents and nonresidents by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). MPD requires CCPL applicants to complete an MPD-approved firearms training course. Any firearm you plan on carrying in Washington D.C. must be registered in the District. DC Concealed Carry Pistol Licenses are valid for two years from the date of issuance. Initial and renewal courses are available.

Utah Concealed Firearm Permit

Utah Concealed Firearm Permits (CFP) are offered for individuals interested in reciprocity to carry a handgun concealed in over 30 other states, including Virginia. The Utah Concealed Firearm Permit is not honored by Maryland or DC, making it a great add-on permit to provide increased coverage.  Utah CFPs are issued to both residents and nonresidents by the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI). The Utah CFP is valid for a period of five years. Before applying for a permit, Applicants must complete a firearms familiarity course that has been certified by the Bureau.

Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit

Virgina Concealed Handgun Permits (CHP) are required for Virginia residents to concealed carry a handgun in the state. Residnet permits are issued by the circuit court of the county or city where the applicant/resident resides. Non-residents can legally concealed carry in the state with a VA CHP or another states concealed carry permits that has reciprocity. Non-resident permits are issued by the Virginia State Police. The Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit is valid for a period of five years.
