Course Overview
The Maryland Wear & Carry course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how individuals may apply this knowledge to home defense or self-defense. This comprehensive course is for anyone who is considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense, and after you have completed this class, you will feel confident to act as your family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident. This course fulfills the MD Wear & Carry training requirement. Topics covered in this course are:
Course Cost
This course costs $225 for initial registration or $175 for renewal
An additional $50 range fee is due prior to shooting on day two of the course. The range fee includes a pistol lane rental, firearm, ammunition, target, and protective gear (eye and ear protection, which students may take home).
Note: $40 range fee for students who bring their own firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition.

When you complete this course with Legally Protected, you will be able to obtain the Maryland Wear & Carry permit, which is required to carry a handgun in Maryland legally. This course is available to both residents of the state and non-residents who are signing up for this course to gain the knowledge they need.
