Handgun Fundamentals
Learn the Basics of Safe & Confident Shooting
Whether you’re brand new to firearms or looking to sharpen your foundation, Legally Protected‘s Handgun Fundamentals class is the perfect place to start. This beginner-friendly course covers everything you need to know to handle a handgun safely, responsibly, and effectively.
Course Cost
This course costs $125. An additional $50 range fee is due prior to shooting on day two of the course, and the range fee includes a pistol lane, firearm, and ammunition. Also included with your range fee is a target, eye protection, and ear protection to take home once you’ve completed the shooting portion of the course.
Course Overview
Our Handgun Fundamentals course is the ideal starting point for anyone new to firearms or looking to refresh their basic skills. Over the span of 2 days, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to safely handle, operate, and maintain a handgun.
This course provides the foundation for all future firearms training , including the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL), concealed carry permits, and defensive shooting courses.
Course Time/Location
- Day 1 (Hands-On Classroom Instruction): 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at 6915 Laurel-Bowie Rd, Bowie, MD 20715
- Day 2 (Live-Fire Shooting): 8:00 am – 2:00 pm at 9801 Fallard Ct, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
What to Bring: Government-issued ID
