MD Wear & Carry

Course Cost
This course costs $225 for initial registration or $175 for those taking this course as a renewal for their license. An additional $50 range fee is due prior to shooting on day two of the course, and the range fee includes a pistol lane, firearm, ammunition. Also included with your range fee and as part of the course is a target, eye protection, and ear protection to take home once you’ve completed the shooting portion of the course.
Course Overview
The Maryland Wear & Carry course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how individuals may apply this knowledge to home defense or self-defense. This comprehensive course is for anyone who is considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense, and after you have completed this class, you will feel confident to act as your family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident. This course fulfills the MD Wear & Carry training requirement. Topics covered in this course are:

This course from Legally Protected is available at two locations for students both in person and virtual:

- PG County Day 2: 8 am Virtual | 10 am on Fallard Ct, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
- Baltimore Day 1: 9 am on Painters Mill Rd, Owings Mills, MD 21117
- Baltimore Day 2: 8 am Virtual | 10 am Red Run Blvd, Owings Mills, MD 21117
Specific addresses will be released via email after registering, and any changes or updates to location, times, or other relevant information will be sent via email to registered participants.
Permits Included
When you complete this course with Legally Protected, you will obtain the Maryland Wear & Carry permit, which is required to legally carry a handgun in Maryland. This course is available to both residents of the state or non-residents who are signing up for this course to gain the knowledge they need.
